Connecticut state parks

Managed by CT DEEP State Parks. These are statewide rules; individual parks may post stricter ones. Federal land inside Connecticut follows federal rules, and drones also follow FAA rules.

Metal detecting Designated areas only

Metal detecting is generally allowed without a permit under DEEP collecting guidelines: surface collection, limited hand-digging in beach sand, and refilling holes. It is prohibited at a list of named parks, including Bluff Point, Dinosaur and Gillette Castle.

Permit
None, but follow the guidelines.
